A New Term, A New Mission

The excitement is back. The boots are laced, the bibs are out and the boys are ready once again as the Aaresther Divine School Football Club begins its first training session of the new academic term.

After an unforgettable previous term filled with lessons, emotions and memorable moments, the team returns stronger, hungrier and more determined to continue building something special.

Last term marked a historic chapter for the school’s football journey. The club played its first two official matches ever — moments that will forever remain part of the school’s sporting history. The opening game against another school came with plenty of nerves and tension as the boys adjusted to the intensity of competitive football. Despite the defeat, the match became an important learning experience and a foundation for what was to come.

Then came the second game ; a match that truly announced the spirit of this team.

In a thrilling encounter, the boys produced an unforgettable 3-2 comeback victory, showing resilience, belief and character beyond their years. It was the kind of performance that reflected the values of Aaresther Divine School; excellence, courage and teamwork.

Several players stood out throughout the term.

Nzurike Goodness etched his name into school history by scoring the football club’s first-ever goal — a sensational 35-yard strike that left everyone speechless. It was a goal worthy of the occasion and one that symbolised the beginning of a new era.

Team captain Crown continued to prove why he is regarded as the heartbeat and soul of the team. His leadership, energy and determination inspired the boys through difficult moments and helped keep the team united on and off the pitch.

Kelechi delivered one of the defining moments of the season during the historic comeback victory, producing a late free kick to seal the club’s first-ever win in dramatic fashion. His composure and brilliance under pressure captured the fighting spirit of the squad.

As the new term begins, Head Coach Boluwatife knows there is still plenty of work ahead. Competition within the squad is stronger than ever, with players eager to become game changers and help lead the team to greater success this term.

Training promises to be intense, competitive and exciting as the boys continue developing their football intelligence, teamwork and winning mentality.

At Aaresther Divine School, football is more than just a game. It is about discipline, growth, courage and excellence.

And as the team steps onto the pitch for another term, one thing is clear:

The journey is only just beginning.
